ALLER: Gracious in defeat....

...but apparently not humble in victory...

Carry On Langport has learnt that the much-opposed solar farm on land belonging to Aller Court Farm, voted against by 3 parish councils and every South Somerset District Councillor last year, will now go ahead. The applicants at Aller Court Farm appealed and the rejection has been overturned by HM Planning Inspectorate.

"It makes you wonder what district councils are for if some woman from Whitehall can turn up and overrule everyone" said an Aller resident...who like most villagers appeared to be 'gracious in defeat'

However, those who side with the applicants apparently have no concept of being 'humble in victory'. This graffiti appeared soon after the u-turn...scribbled across one of the old anti-solar farm campaign posters on someone's garden wall:

Fascinating. The briefcase thing must be some kind of Aller 'in-joke'...

In other news...as well as solar farms, we understand the applicants may now be going into the 'Life Coaching' industry. Their first book, 'How To Come Off An Entire Village's Christmas Card List in Six Easy Steps', will be available for 50p at all good charity shops next month.
