For one night only...

Vicar turns up the jukebox at Langport Church...

Langport Church will be making more noise than 'Hot Tub Night' at the nearby Freemason's Lodge tomorrow night (Thursday) as a handful of top names from the music industry turn up for a one-off concert special.

Tickets had already sold out a few weeks ago as locals and others rush to grab a pew to see Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics play. Carry On Langport hasn't quite done its research (no change there then) but rumour has it Nik Kershaw may also have a room at The Langport Arms this week as well as a member of The Squeeze plus one or two others.

The publicity talks of "a VERY special guest" but gives no clues who may be rolling into Langport for the event. Dave Stewart's old mate Annie???

Sounds like a great night of music, let's hope the professionals have done their sound checks...it's not the Top of the Pops studio boys...it's Langport Church. The last time All Things Bright and Beautiful was sung there...the organ hadn't been played for so long...a colony of bats flew out of the vicar's vestry.

It all sounds exciting though. I didn't bother getting a ticket so I may be camped out in the graveyard with a gallon of scrumpy. Let's see what Thursday night brings...it's all happening round 'ere innit.
