Tesco Demolition Shock

Heavy Plant Hire & Car/Bike Repair Shop Application

Staff at the Langport branch of Tesco say they "can't comment" on unconfirmed reports the store is considering selling up and allowing 2 new businesses to build on the land.

It's believed a heavy plant hire firm and two local mechanics have expressed an interest in building on the plot.

These (above) are artist's impressions of what the site might look like if Chris Osborne, Frank Pengelly and John Light - none of whom can be named for legal reasons - get planning permission.

Prince Charles - known for his passionate views on Britain's architecture - has told Carry On Langport the plant services building in particular would be a "stunning addition to the town's wealth of medieval structures"

It's believed part of the mechanics' premises may also include a back gallery where waiting customers can enjoy some of the ups and downs and bumps and curves of the motoring trade.

Every Little Helps.
