Electronic tags fail - 15 inmates 'on the run'
At least 15 inmates at Langport prison - pictured above - went on a festive fishing trip today as a power surge at an address in nearby Coombe took out the building's electronic ankle tag monitoring system.
These men, including local boy band Fast Decline's Yannick Allerton (above left) - serving 5 years for impersonating a guitarist - were spotted outside the building at around 11 o'clock this morning.
Labour Party Leader Jeremy Corbyn (above right) was brought in to negotiate with the escapees who told him they wanted "more curtains" at the prison, amid claims cyclists at the nearby Wharf cafe & restaurant could see them slopping out on Sunday mornings.
Police say they have now rounded up the convicts, most of whom were found at the nearby Rose and Crown arguing over the girth of the landlord's pike.
