Hamwatch

 Sorry - wrong programme...

Contrary to local press reports, it's not Crimewatch UK that is filming at High Ham today but Countryfile.

The BBC's rural and agricultural show is in the village to interview a farmer who last year fell victim to sheep-rustlers. Around 200 of his animals were taken in the dead of night by professionals who appear to have used dogs to round them up into lorries which drove through the roadside hedge to get into the field.

The farmer and several like him across Britain are asking the government to invest more into rural policing. We support them and wish them well.

A BBC spokesman went on to tell Carry On Langport that after today's recording, the production crew may well visit the nearby King's Head for some "light refreshment".

"That's where we're hoping to get some material for Crimewatch" he said.

Carry On Langport has also mentioned the pub and its locals to The Archers script team in case they are looking for any new storylines.

"Don't be daft" said the Radio 4 soap's writer Keri Davies, "if we put any of that on air listeners would think we'd lost the plot"

As Crimewatch presenters say at the end of every episode..."Sleep well and don't have nightmares"
