Nothing to see here...
It's a quiet start of the week across Langport and Huish with not a lot on the news agenda.
At the town council this evening members are having their monthly meeting. One item on the agenda: a discussion of the feedback from the public survey on the toilets in the central car park. The questions included how often you use them, what you think of them...and if anyone has seen Emma Swallows since she stopped advertising on the back of the door in the men's.
Langport spends £10,000 a year of [our] taxpayers' money on its public toilets.
How exactly? Can we have a breakdown? Is a local person cleaning them, unlocking and locking them every day and maintaining them? Or is it some agency the Clerk's hired in at enormous expense?
Ten grand of public money to keep those toilets open?
Also up for discussion at tonight's meeting: the possibility of a bus shelter at the bus stop outside Travis Perkins and whether the Black Swan should go back to using a plain old-fashioned clothes line.
But that's it....until the next hard-hitting news lands on our news desk...there's really nothing to see here.
