Edgar Hall - Somerton

 Pitch inspection

A pitch inspection's being held at the Edgar Hall in Somerton this evening prior to tomorrow [Saturday] night's Rugby Club fundraiser.

Members of the town's team are competing against each other in a Strictly Come Dancing competition.

They'll be decked out just like dancers in the BBC show...tight trousers and shirts all round.

"We're not worried about odd shaped balls here in Somerton" said a local town councillor, "just look at our chairman."

"We're hoping to see a few local hookers go down..." said the landlord of The Globe.

"...and with these marvellous costumes....some good penetration of the back [hem] line" said flanker Justin Marks (pictured above centre)

The competition kicks off at 7.30pm with the first dance floor brawl expected at 8 with more fights at the bar and in the audience between 9 and 10.

There are even reports Somerton Rugby Club's arch rivals - the Acorn Nursery Fifteen -  may be planning to gatecrash the event.

Best of luck to all involved (with the dancing)
