The Crown's back in town...

 Drayton braces itself

Drayton's all new village pub throws open its doors this weekend with a brand new name.

'The Drayton Crown' is what the former Drayton Arms used to be known as - and already this blog has won the 'how many times can you mention Drayton in a story' competition.

New landlord and landlady Donna and Gary, pictured top, will be pulling their first pubic pints at 5pm today (Fri).

It means Langporters already enjoying the novelty of a quick trip to the recently re-opened Black Swan for a drink can now put another pub on their radar.

"We'll probably cycle up, dump the bikes at the Crown, try to stagger home and end up sleeping at The Grange" said a Whatley couple.

There's also excitement from the Curry Rivel end:

"Do you think they take giro-cheques?" said a Chatham Place woman.

Carry On Langport looks forward to reporting goings-on at the pub...send in your photographic contributions and other 'hard-hitting local news' via the blog's Facebook page.
