Thinking of standing for Langport Town Council?
You've still got a few weeks to make up your mind.
Get in touch with the town clerk or South Somerset District Council to get your nomination papers.
The forms have to be in by 4pm on Friday 27th of this month.
That's just a few nights before halloween...
(if that's not a good omen I don't know what is)
This bit's important:
There are 7 vacancies on the council. But if at least 8 people don't stand then the by-election planned for November 23rd will not take place.

means those who stand - if less than 8 - will simply be co-opted on to
the council. In other words they will automatically get a seat with people having absolutely no say in the matter.
So we need as many potential councillors to stand as possible - even if you've not fully convinced yourself you want to do it yet - just to make sure we hit that magic number of 8 and trigger the election.
If you are standing - don't leave it to the last minute.
You need the details of two Langport-registered electors to propose and second you before your forms can go in...and they have to be delivered by hand. You can't post or e-mail them.
