Sales of holey cardigans rocket...

...as Julian Temperley appears on the BBC's Countryfile programme...

Primark, M&S and Mole Valley are all reporting a massive jump in online sales of holey cardigans and dodgy jumpers this evening, just minutes after Burrow Hill Cider farm featured in an episode of the BBC's Countryfile programme.

Mr Temperley and his chief cider brandy distiller Rob Moore, pictured above, were broadcast across the nation just before 7 o'clock this evening...both wearing Alice's rejects.

"I thought I'd given them to Martock Charity Shop" said the award-winning designer (pictured), "but Dad must've gone down and got them back"

This evening's TV appearance didn't go well though as thousands of viewers swamped the BBC switchboard when the subtitle machine failed just seconds into the Burrow Hill part of the broadcast causing confusion across the nation.

"I thought Worzel Gummidge was on on Thursdays" said a Birmingham woman.

Despite the mix-up, the show appears to have gone down well and has proved once again that Somerset is indeed the centre of the known universe.

There are no further details.
