Stuckey's bank building sold

but it's nothing to do with Mary Coombes...

Just months after NatWest abandoned Langport, its historic premises in the centre of Langport have already found a buyer.

They've been sold to an Isle Brewers/Abbotts-based businessman who, it's reported, will turn the upstairs into offices and make downstairs retail.

The groundfloor is to be rented out as a tattoo and massage parlour, but the manageress of the new business isn't Mary Coombes...who moved her Huish business empire to Castle Cary after an issue with a beard trimmer in 2016.

The new tenant hasn't been named but it's believed she used to work at the bank until it closed.

The news has been welcomed by a handful of public figures including the Reverend Jess Pitman at St Mary's Church.

"Marvellous" she told our reporter, "I usually get my tattoos done in Yeovil so with the money I save on fuel I'll be able to get more gin in"

Oh dear...better put the crash mats 'round the font again then Vicar.

There are no further details.
