Locals 'getting quite excited' about it
According
to the headline on the front page of this week's Western Gazette,
Drayton residents are getting 'quite excited' about the Lawn Tennis
Association's plans to hold the 2018 championship in the village.
It's
still a month away but the BBC has already moved in to set up its live
broadcasts and fans have begun booking local B&Bs and campsites.
"There's quite an atmosphere here" said one woman, "especially down near the Manor"
Even the local pub has been affected...

The price of strawberries has quadrupled and last Sunday Cliff Richard
popped up in church and sang his 1970 Eurovision hit 'Applications'.
The
Mayoress of Drayton, pictured in a garden on School Street, said she
couldn't comment on the event but told Carry On Langport she hoped
locals would continue to get excited about it for some time to come.
