Carry On Langport's Archives

Wednesday 4 July 2018

Oh well...

...I guess the old place has to be used for something.

That's the reaction of  Langport residents this week to the appearance of posters on one of North Street's most beautiful but neglected buildings...the old brothel opposite The Black Swan.

"I'm amazed advertisers didn't pounce on the boarded-up windows years ago" said Reginald Braithwaite, Somerset spokesman for the English Flyposting League.

It's reported several local businesses have now gone out and bought wallpaper paste and brushes with the intention of doing the same.

"Brilliant" said Mr Braithwaite, "...and while you're at it...how about covering over the Persimmon Homes sign up on the corner of the roundabout at Kelways?"

Mr Braithwaite, you are a genius...pop down to the 'Heart of the Levels' anytime and we'll buy you a pint.
