So much for freedom of speech...

Persimmon beech hedge row banner lasts just 48 hours.

Less than 2 days after it appeared, the banner objecting to the removal of the avenue of trees which straddles the new housing plot opposite the former Kelways Inn has been taken down.

There's no firm word on who removed it yet but Carry On Langport has been informed (unconfirmed) there was an 'angry' complaint about it in the last 24 hours from Huish Episcopi Parish Council.

So who took it down or ordered it to be removed? The parish council? Persimmon Homes staff? (contractors have arrived on site this week) or the person/people who put it up in the first place?

Whatever the answer, how sad that here in Huish and Langport such a vibrant expression of public feeling has been stamped out so quickly.

So much for freedom of speech eh? Seems to me our opinions are worth diddly-squat folks.

Welcome to North Korea.
