Langport blogger gets writer's block...

 S.O.S

In answer to a number of online [down the pub] enquiries...the editor of Carry On Langport has gone down with a touch of springtime writer's block in recent weeks.

Your contributions continue to land in the inbox but posting them on the blog ain't happening at the moment.

Any ideas? Here's a list of the backlog - unwritten - just the headlines and story. That way you stay informed eh.

LANGPORT CLOCK - the crane to lower the clock back into place has been booked for Thursday 11th April. On the Friday, the Langport Arms is encouraging everyone to go in and have a drink to celebrate - with a dodgy little plan by 'someone' to get the crowd out on the pavement every hour and toast the clock with a shot of some sort everytime it chimes - right up til closing. Marvellous, I feel a photo opportunity coming on.

PERSIMMON - yet more complaints from across the UK of the quality of building at Persimmon Homes. Here's the link: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6772563/Family-hit-breaking-point-700-FAULTS-new-280-000-house.html If you or someone you know is considering buying one of the homes going up opposite the former Kelways Inn...you have been warned.

and what about KELWAYS? - bus station? Wetherspoons? Refugee centre for people who buy a Persimmon Home over the road? Or just plain old flats?

WAGG DROVE - has a new all-weather floodlit sports arena (pictured) - its main feature is a circular race track around a local landmark - popular with local cattle apparently.

LANGPORT RIVER PROJECT - Success! The town got the money from the European Union to muck about with the river bank between Bow Bridge & Black Bridge.

SCRIVENS - no news on its future, but Bow Street doesn't feel right with that door closed eh.

LOCAL ELECTIONS - fancy a spell on Langport Town or Huish Episcopi Parish Council? There are local elections on May 2nd. If you feel like standing, contact the clerk of either council. Nominations have to be in soon though! By Wednesday 3rd April.

All up to date. Plenty of other things going on too but not blog material.

COMPLAINTS

Two complaints so far this year about Carry On Langport.

Both complainants didn't really get it, missed the [satirical] point completely. No laws were broken though, everything on Carry On Langport gets posted with a watchful eye on media law.

There ya go.

A reminder to new readers - Facebook & Instagram notify you when there's a new post but the full post with all its pictures is always on the main blog page which is...as ever:
