There he is!

The noisy bugger...

The aviation authority (ok - Langport residents enjoying the springtime sunshine) is investigating why a Somerset pilot thinks he's back in the Battle of Britain.

This photograph, sent in by a Bow Street household, shows what many of us down on the ground have been hearing these last few days: an aircraft looping the loop and frantically criss-crossing the sky above the town.

"We think he thinks he's being chased by the Luftwaffe" said a spokeswoman for Langport History Society, "or trying to get away from a stray doodlebug"

But the South Somerset Lawnmower Appreciation Society disagreed.

"No no no" said a spokesman, "by the sound of the thing, that's definitely a Flymo"

Either way - if you know who Biggles is - tell him the war's over, to put a silencer on his engine exhausts and could he possibly open his bomb doors over that field opposite Kelways next time he's up there.

There are no further details.
