Star of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang musical gives Langporters 'surprise performance'
Award-winning singer William Langford stunned the crowds at an event in central Langport this weekend when he performed a number from his hit musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
The entertainer was accompanied by Kingsbury Town Band as he sang 'Doll on a Music Box'.
"It was marvellous!" said one woman in the audience, "brilliant" said a local teenager. "We only came down here to see the unveiling of the new Friendly Society banner" said another resident, "and what a surprise!"

It didn't all go smoothly for Mr Langford though, at one point the band was forced to stop playing as the West End star checked the words...
Despite the hitch he carried on and finished the number to rapturous applause.
"I'm so proud of him" said his partner Annie, "but he looks so much better in a skirt."
