BREAKDOWN: solar-powered passenger ferry towed back to dock...

 'Wrong type of sun' blamed.

There was commuter chaos on the River Parrett yesterday as the Duchess of Cocklemoor's engines failed during afternoon rush hour.

Sunday workers heading home to Coombe, Aller and Burrowbridge Junction were held up for over two hours before an alternative bus service was arranged from the town hall at Langport.

The Duchess had to be towed back to dock at Stuckey's Island by International Rescue at Stathe (pictured).

The White Star Line, which runs the Duchess of Cocklemoor, is refusing to comment on the incident.

There are no further details.
