Public feedback needed...
The Langport public and the town's businesses are being asked to send in their views on plans to hold what could be the westcountry's biggest ever game of skittles.
The charity event would see skittle balls the size of "small cars" catapulted towards the end of Langport from Post Office corner.
The nine skittle pins, stood up in the road outside The Wharf, would be played by our town councillors.
Huish Episcopi parish councillors have agreed to be the sticker-uppers, "we're always propping the place up" said a spokeswoman.
The scores would be kept on the new electronic information board in the centre of Langport...which would probably have to be moved slightly so it gets noticed.
At least 3 Langport drug dealers have agreed to provide half-price ketamine at the scene for any councillors needing first aid, "we're cheaper than the Vet's" said one of them.
There were concerns some of the 'giant skittle balls' may miss their target completely and fly over Bow Bridge but the European Union has now agreed to provide a back-stop between the town and Curry Rivel.
"It just means players may have their balls checked at Wick" said an EU spokesman.
Organisers of the fundraiser say they're hoping to hold the event on Children In Need day next month.
Some local skittle teams have reportedly already applied to take part in the competition including the one at Elis.
"At least the Bow Street alley's heated" said player Tim Stradling, who asked not to be named.
