Public Consultation Deadline: 30th November 2020
The first round of public consultations is underway on a housing developer's proposals to build 100 new homes on this land in Huish Episcopi [pictured].
The project, on the flat field opposite Kelways Nursery, is at an early stage with the builder moving towards applying for outline planning permission from South Somerset District Council.
[details on how you can take part in the consultation are at the bottom of this post]
Here's what the applicant's saying:
Affordable homes eh? as in...local people can afford them? and how many? - and will they stick to that number during the application process or like housing applications all over the UK, will that number get smaller and smaller?
Moreover, can our sewers [already squirting at the seams], schools and doctor's surgery cope with the influx?
Finally, will the buldings fit in with the surrounding dwellings and countryside? Or will it be like the lego that's popped up down the road opposite the former Kelways Inn?

To repeat: no application's been put in and when it is/they are - there will be further opportunities to comment on the district council website.
Always good to get in early though!
A reminder:
The deadline for this first round of public consultations for these 100 new homes is a week today, November 30th.
