Social media catches fire in Somerton...

as the town gets 'the Langport Touch'...

The internet across our neighbouring town of Somerton caught fire earlier this week when locals clapped eyes on what had been strapped to the side of their Victorian parish rooms building this month.

A digitial information screen, just like the one Langport got last year. Although ours looks less of an eyesore, being stuck on the side of a modern build, the town centre toilet block.

The fact that Somerton's is on the parish rooms appears to have caused uproar with dozens venting on Facebook:

Oh dear, nice to know it's not just Langport and Huish that gets funny when they're not consulted about something.

Like Langport, Somerton's king-sized iphone 12 was paid for with grant money. But it seems to be its location that's pushed people over the edge.

Let's look at some more Facebook fun:

You're not alone Somerton, we often get things popping up here in Langport too that raise a collective eyebrow.

We were all baffled by the appearance of a large wooden shed in the town centre shopping area last week:

...and wondering if other local traders & stall holders can have one too?

Good question! [that's another story!]

anyhow...

 Battle on Somerton, battle on!

...and keep the buggers on their toes.
