VIEWS SO FAR:

Carry On Langport's Archives

What a complete and utter waste of our money...

Over £10,000 on moving and converting this....

When this, a defib machine in a standard outdoor secure cabinet, would cost less than £2,000.

A plan is currently in the pipeline to relocate the old telephone box at the railway bridge at The Avenue to the town centre, do it up and install both a defibrillator machine and 'mini town information centre' inside.

This from the town council [Langport] which takes every opportunity to tell us that it "operates on a shoestring" and has no money.

Huish Episcopi Parish Council has received a request to pay for half of the proposed cost which will be just over £10,000.

A simple secure outdoor cabinet and a defib machine currently retail, from any number of suppliers, at well under that price....even as little as fifteen hundred pounds.

Do the maths Langport Town Council.

Leave the old phone box where it is [and where it's been since at least the 1950s] and go for the cheaper option eh?

Because next time you do a 'cap in hand' appeal for money because you allegedly have none, it will most certainly fall on deaf ears.

Just run the town, enough with your airy-fairy ideas.

Rant over.

Morning all! 4 nil! What a result!
