After much speculation about the Rose and Crown's changeover plans this year, a Facebook post from Huish Episcopi's first family...
Rumours still abound about what might happen during the closure. Expanding the kitchen? Relaunching skittle leagues visiting the alley? Doing up the top room for diners? Dart board? Small branch of Anne Summers upstairs?
The Eli's family must be sick to death of all the comments and advice and suggestions they've had about the old place over the years....but we may as well add some more while we've got their attention!
Just a few requests from us here at Carry On Langport and lots of other locals:
1. obviously don't mess with that twee old barless bar area. As if you would!
2. are the 'listed' men's urinals going to stay? Not really a request, just a question. If not, how about sticking them in a glass cabinet as an attraction?
3. how about reintroducing the geese?
4. and keep that knackered old 1980s CD jukebox including its playlists. Legendary. Added to the quirky nature of the old place.
👍👍👍
So it's all change at Huish Church then.
How the wheel of time turns eh...
What a brilliant old picture taken in 1978. [We're not sure why Rodney Trotter is in the background]
With much love to Steve, Maureen and Trish and 'best of British' to the next generation.....old man Eli's great grandchildren Lauren and Ryan and his wife Annalee.
