ELECTION 2022: WHO'S WHO?

No elections for Langport Town Councillors tomorrow folks, not enough people were interested in standing to trigger a poll so whether that's good or bad - we're keeping the old lot. Plus a few newbies possibly. [sweet FA of an explanation on the town council's website so we thought we'd better mention it]

Plenty of candidates trying to either get on to or stay on Huish Episcopi Parish Council though which has 8 seats up for grabs [one ninth and final seat is uncontested]

That has indeed triggered an election to the parish council which represents and serves a far higher population than does Langport Town Council.

Many of those local candidates standing for election [pictured] include:

Rob Crumb, Sean Dromgoole, Caroline Dunn, Arywn Harris, Barry Horsgood, Graham Lock, Shirley Nicholas, Peter Porter, Jane Redfearn, Val Saunders, John Wood.

Readers will notice some of those candidates for Huish already sit on Langport Town Council.

Let's see what we get!

SOMERSET:

There are also elections tomorrow for the brand new 'Somerset Council', to replace the districts.

To see who's standing for the Langport & Curry Rivel ward, click HERE (this takes you to a page on South Somerset District Council's website) and scroll down to page 8 of 17.

HAPPY VOTING!

In our next bulletin:

Catering vans flock to roadside lay-bys across Langport and Huish to feed drivers stuck in traffic jams.

Coming soon!
