A selection of messages to your local blog in recent weeks...

Dear Sir or Madame,

We moved to Langport some months ago and are enjoying the town greatly. However, we were horrified to hear recently that there is a town clock which, when working, chimes every hour.

Is this true? How awful. Do you think we'd make ourselves unpopular if, when the clock is eventually repaired, we campaigned to have the hourly bell switched off?

Many thanks.

To the Editor,

Could you inform your readers that the log flume on the stream at Eli's will be opening on the first weekend in July and that we will be selling return tickets to Paradise online from next week.

Many thanks.

Dear Carry On Langport,

We are delighted to announce that our current Aldi Price Match has been extended until September.

This means that dozens of products will continue to be increased in price to make sure they are the same as what Aldi charge.

We hope locals are enjoying the campaign which was thought up by one of our dipsticks at head office.

Many thanks.

Dear Madame,

We are not sure if we imagined it but last week my wife and I believe we saw at least 2 town councillors walking around Langport actually looking at things that need to be sorted out and done.

Someone even told us they recognised them.

Many thanks.

To Carry On Langport,

We are thinking of filming our summer commercial on Cocklemoor.

Could you tell us who we need to contact and what the fees would be?

Many thanks.

Dear Blogger,

Do you have any idea why the campaign to open a railway station in the Langport and Somerton area has gone quiet?

As landlords and home owners, my husband and I are extremely concerned house prices and rent aren't going up enough.

Many thanks.

To The Editor,

Noting the absolute failure of our town council to decorate the main street or town hall with red, white and blue or even mark the Queen's jubilee recently, I was wondering when the Christmas sorry WINTER lights are going up this year?

You know, the ones that stay up until spring?

I only ask because my boyfriend and I have started a sweep stake.

Many thanks.
