EVENT CLASH THIS WEEKEND!

What's it to be this Saturday then folks?

PitFest or Party By The Parrett?

Tough choice. Each has its own identity, fans and unique way of welcoming you on the gate.

But they are two great events all day on Saturday! Pitfest, on Pitney Playing Fields / the cricket pitch, is open from around midday [some of the roadside signs say 1pm] and goes through til late.

Party by the Parrett is on Kingsbury Episcopi Rec from 2pm.

Both events have more details on their Facebook pages. If you've never been to either but intend to...well we'll let you carry on your own research.

[but be warned - no dogs at PitFest, not sure about Parrett party]

Putting Saturday fun aside though, let's not forget these chaps and chapesses doing sterling work down there on Langport's North Street on Sunday:

A spokesman at the surgery told Carry On Langport this year's lucky dip includes free pile cream and the second-hand book stall is selling a handful of copies of 'How to stitch your own fissure' by local author Ben Dover.

Sounds useful! Maybe pop in to Slade House on the way home and pick up an old swivel mirror to help out.

and there's more!

NEXT WEEKEND IN THE TOWN GARDEN

and for those of us still not sure where or what the town garden is....it's that public space through the archway under the [now working!] town clock.

Great to have old father time working again isn't it! Chiming the hour as BBC Radio 4 puts out the pips.

Brilliant!

One more for you...

The Reverend Jess Pitman is leaving the parish after many years here. A thanks-giving service is being held at All Saints Church, Langport, the morning after Art Day on Sunday 10th July at 10:30am.

Perhaps go along and wish her well, she's done a grand job and will be missed. How on earth do we fill her shoes?

That's your Friday bulletin done and dusted folks, log in again soon!
