' When the grass turns yellow and the steam funnels bellow and the cider flows,
when the oil and steam mix and we get our fix and forget our woes.
Farmers in smocks, oily faces, steamer convoys and ploughing races.
Live music, sunny days and real ale fine - get up to the field at Ham this Saturday and Sunday,
It's steam fair time! '

[wasn't that nice, who wrote that then?]
More details about what us locals use to call 'The Traction Engine Rally' are on the poster below.
Music Saturday night, bars open all day Saturday and Sunday. Apart from the large marquee[s] there's no shade. Bring a brolly, it's gonna get hot!
Never been? It's a quirky old event in a great setting and well worth a look. Fun events in the arena and market stalls, food & drink. Big social gathering too if you live round these 'ere parts! - the Saturday night music event [covered by your day entry ticket] is definitely the one to go to!
EDITOR'S NOTE:
There's no official word [there never is] on the time of steam engine conoys to nearby venues including Eli's and Bere Cider Farm but they are usually late afternoon on the Saturday.
These are unofficial spin-off events so they are not offiially publicised [it all gets a bit political!]
Have a great weekend folks!
