Open to the public!
The Bagehot-Stuckey mansion gardens are open to the public this weekend folks.
It's quite easy to live here all your life and never have even set foot on the Hurds Hill estate just outside Langport.
Surrounded by trees and so unseen to passers-by, the 19th century house and its lush grounds were the westcountry home of the economist and adviser to Queen Victoria Walter Bagehot.
As part of the open garden season in aid of St Margaret's Hospice, the grounds are open on Sunday.
Hurds Hill's driveway goes up in to the trees on the left handside outside of Langport in the Curry Rivel direction just before the turning to Wick.
Beautiful old place, a hidden gem and part of Langport's history.
Some very exotic plants and shrubs growing up there too. Especially in the main beds where there are some dirty-great nasty buggers....
....nearly blinded this couple from Kelways Nursery last summer.
The charity event, with tea and cake and other refreshments, runs from 2 til 4pm this Sunday and will cost you £3 on the gate.
Did you know you can also book out this venue for private/public events throughout the year?
Right on our doorstep, definitely worth a look!
