Best local music festival 'by miles' winds up after decade of fun.
It is with much regret we have to report that rumours last year that 2022 was the last time PitFest would take place are true.
The announcement's been made on social media this week, here's what was put out:
The love and appreciation shown in the comments section on Facebook in recent days is testament to the fact that the event, on Pitney playing field, was the cream of the bunch when it comes to day-long mini music gigs.
Live music from midday until midnight in a beautiful rural setting, how can you beat that?!
No harris [metal fencing] sealing the site off, no busy bodies everywhere you look wearing hi-vis vests and no Gestapo on the gate going through your stuff to check you're not taking your own food and drink in.
And all for a fiver! PitFest did indeed tick all the boxes.
Perhaps in homage to the gig, some other nearby day-long music events could take a leaf out of its book eh?
What fun we've had over the years...
