Yet another batch of fantastic old photographs of yesteryear have surfaced.
This top one's a beauty! Filled with people many of us know and knew, it's the opening of the primary school swimming pool in 1963.
Cutting the ribbon is Taunton woman Janet Franklin who was an olympic swimmer, to her right is Eli Scott who was not only the landlord of you-know-where but also a school governor and there looking on proudly to Mrs Franklin's left is a man many of us remember....our old headmaster Mr Coles!
And what about all those parents and kids surrounding the ribbon-cutting? See anyone you know?
Sadly the pool, a huge asset to the school and where many of us learnt to swim, was built over and not replaced around 40 years later.
😊
This one's a great line-up of the Langport & Huish cricket team in 1963.
They include Chris and Mike Harwood, plenty of other names needed here if you see anyone you remember.
😊
This next one was taken at the Royal British Legion bar, upstairs at the town hall, in the late 1960s after a pool [snooker?] match.
The men include Ron Trott, Bernard Rogers, Chris Harwood, John Nicholas, Jack Dagworthy & Tony Overd.
😊
Finally this last one is Pankhurst's Garage on Bow Street, where the blue-painted building and archway are today opposite the old church (now 'party house')
The man on the right is Chris Harwood.
