Today - 6pm - up the rec!
LangFest17 kicks off today as people gather at Langport Rec' for a fancy dress procession behind a Samba band down to the centre of town.
Organisers say anyone can turn up and for those who can't think of what to wear yet - even a hat will do. (not just a hat though...that's at the Arms later)
The 'walking carnival' begins at 6pm and ends with a party on the island in the precinct (over 30? We still call that 'the car park') - that event, beginning at 7pm, includes live bands and a DJ.
A number of locals are expected to be taking part and have already let us know what they'll be going as, here's a quick rundown with names on the left and costumes on the right:
