Carry On Langport!: Power surges at Langport

'Teething problems' as festive illuminations settle in.

Hinkley Point says the Langport area has been experiencing power surges since the town's Christmas lights were installed and switched on last Sunday morning.

"Nothing to be alarmed about" said a spokesman, "it happens every year"

One of the power surges hit the big screen at the surgery which started showing Carry On Screaming yesterday just as Dr Balai performed a vasectomy on another member of the Bown family.

Another struck at Boots the Chemist where ketamine was accidentally handed out to an Eastover couple...they were seen taking 3 hours to cross the road later outside Travis Perkins.

The Black Swan was also affected, "3 of our 900 halogen lights aren't working" said the landlord.

Nextdoor, the Hair and Beauty Lodge also reported problems when this woman emerged from one of the tanning booths just after lunch on Sunday.

She told reporters she was "delighted" with the results, "I'll take in stuffing and spuds next time" she said.

Two of the town's oldest businesses the Black Swan and the Langport Arms have been completely left out.

We believe there was also a power surge at Langport Town Council leader Val Saunders' address in Huish on Monday but she told neighbours it hadn't gone to her head.

Editor's Note - As you can see we have done a bit of D.I.Y and added two popular town businesses to the map. For some reason the Langport Arms and the Black Swan were not included in the original design.

Both venues will have their doors open to the crowds on Saturday and will in fact be two of the few businesses still open once the fireworks are over.
