'Arrogant Homes' sign still in place...
Last month our elected representatives at South Somerset District Council voted against this housing development for almost 100 homes on the trial ground, the two empty fields opposite the Kelways Inn.
They were unanimous, all of them rejected the application.
Which begs the question: why's their sign still up there then?
Other planning authorities and landowners don't allow advertising hoardings for new buildings to go up until planning permissions is given.
Why are Persimmon any different?
"Bit cheeky" said a local councillor who didn't want to be named, "wouldn't it be awful if somebody threw a tin of black paint over it."
It's widely expected Persimmon will either appeal the decision or re-submit an earlier application for a lesser amount of houses.
