"No problemo" say Portuguese Police...

...as 24 Langporters turn up for golf tour.

Police in Portugal say they're "not that fussed" that two dozen Langport men have flown in today on a week-long golf tour.

Commander Pablo Garcia dos Santos told reporters there was a "relaxed attitude" to the tourists adding that on their last tour most of them were in bed by midnight.

"That is exactly what we are hoping for too" said Maria Isabel de las Putas Baratas, spokeswoman for Lisbon's Ladies of the Night Union  - pictured below on the phone to Long Sutton Golf Club Chairman Tommy Talk to check he can afford her.

"After their eventful visit last year'" she explained, "we have gone a step further and recreated Priest Lane for them at the back of the hotel, just to make them feel at home."

The Langport golfers, many of whom are still learning that a 'Puti Club' in Portugal isn't something you hit the ball with, are due back next Wednesday...and due back at work the Tuesday after.

Be good boys....and if you can't be good get it all on film.

TOWN ASSEMBLY - ALL WELCOME

Langport Town Trust's finances are still in dire straits and the trustees (town councillors) need to speak to locals/voters about it.

You may remember it was a black hole in the finances that lead to 'chapelgate' last summer and the subsequent resignation of a number of councillors.

The public meeting, also a question and answer session, is on Saturday 13th October at 1.30pm at the Ridgway Hall - that's the youth club building just off Bow Street.

It doesn't sound good folks - get down there, look at the options and have your say!
