In response to a handful of readers who, over the weekend, complained that "not enough nonsense" had been published on Carry On Langport in recent days...yes it's a valid complaint and we are only too happy to oblige.

NEWS JUST IN
...as heron hits crane
Local police (in Wincanton) say they’re concerned for the welfare of a heron which has gone missing on Langport Moor.
The
bird disappeared last week and detectives believe there may be a link
with the launch of the Duchess of Cocklemoor, Ian MacNab’s ferry boat
service which was on the Parrett around the same.
It’s believed the heron may have collided with the crane used to lower the vessel into the water at Bow Bridge.
Sir
David Attenborough said he was “fascinated” by the report and that he
had no idea the two species used the same air space.
But there are other leads too, with one eyewitness claiming she saw the bird perched up on the roof of the Hanging Chapel.
“I think it’s been sold” she told reporters.
Another
theory is that its treetop nest, on a public footpath alongside the ABP abattoir's land in Huish Episcopi, was ripped out by Irish
wolfhounds as they flashed wads of cash at nearby homeowners.
The
Avon and Somerset Police press office, under the pier at Portishead,
told us they were investigating “all Avenues” – including the one by the
railway bridge in Langport where that cider-swilling photographer at number 2 is
still taking dodgy pictures of wildlife.
If you've seen the missing heron, an injured crane or even Ian MacNab's boat...call the 999 switchboard at Wincanton which will E-mail police headquarters at Portishead which should send a fax to Somerton police station.
