'No longer legal tender'

Eli's bids farewell to an old friend

The halfcrown coin ceased to be legal tender at the Rose & Crown in Huish Episcopi at midnight last night.

"We've converted the juke box" said Landlord Steve Pittard, "but we still haven't done the fruit machine"

"What about the pool table?" said one local.

"That's still taking farthings" said Mr Pittard.

Huish Episcopi Parish Council has released this public information video to help locals cope with the switchover.

But not all local businesses are complying with the changeover.

Gift Shop 'Florin' on Cheapside is refusing to be renamed '10p' and night workers on Priest Lane say they have no plans to abandon their 'Bob a Job' service.
